Dr. R. D. Lele January 2004 I remember reading
an article in JAMA 1998 (280:1347) on how physicians use electronic information
retrieval systems. According to this systematic review, “Most
searches retrieve only one fourth to one half of the relevant articles
on a given topic and once retrieved little is known about how these articles are
interpreted or applied. These studies imply that further research and development
are needed to improve system utility and performance” This CD tackles
the basic but very important aspect of retrieval. The 500+ links take care of
retrieval of very relevant articles on a large number of subjects. The
links for free full texts and commonly available journals make for a very high
practical usage of information retrieved.
I believe that using this CD, physicians will be able to retrieve more than 70%
of relevant literature! |
